A habit of reading and reflection

LIT’s January 2026 update looked back on the Pastors Reading Program, launched in 2024 using Crossway’s Global Pastors Bookset. The program was intended to equip pastors with sound resources and encourage lifelong learning through reading and reflection.

The update described a group of ten pastors who had each read fifteen books and completed written reviews on ten of them. This is a historical report about that group, rather than a current enrollment or cumulative completion total.

Learning beyond the study

The newsletter described personal, pastoral, and spiritual renewal. Four participating pastors had also spoken with Crossway about how reading had influenced their ministry and their family lives.

These accounts connected theological learning with the everyday responsibilities of being husbands, fathers, and preachers of God’s Word.

Hear from the participants

The same update pointed readers back to the experiences of Pastor Ezhi and Pastor Damala. Their accounts show different ways that reading can prompt reflection and change in ministry.

LIT asked supporters to pray that these men would continue in faithful, humble service to their churches and families.
