Returning to the heart of the gospel

Reading Gospel People prompted Pastor Damala to reflect on evangelism and the message he preached.

A personal response to reading

Pastor Damala was participating in LIT’s Pastors Reading Program when he read Gospel People by Michael Reeves. In the testimony shared in November 2025, his response was deeply personal:

“I wept while reading it”

He reflected on how the heart of evangelism could be missed. The truths he encountered prompted him to preach differently, speak more boldly, and anchor his ministry in the gospel itself.

From reading to teaching

When invited to speak on missions, he drew on what he had learned. People asked where he had gained those insights. His answer connected the message with the reading and reflection he had been doing:

“I am enrolled in a Pastors Reading Program.”

The account offers a glimpse of how a pastor’s study can carry into teaching and the wider life of a church. It is a testimony shared in 2025, rather than a claim about his present enrollment.
