A program designed for sustained study
In May 2024, LIT outlined a Pastors Reading Program developed with publishing partners. Participants would receive a 15-book set in five batches over a planned 15 months, covering biblical and theological foundations and practical pastoral ministry.
Reading was paired with short written reflections. The initial design required reflections on at least two books in a batch before receiving the next set of resources.
From launch to a wider cohort
The August newsletter reported that the program had begun with 48 pastors committed to the process. By November, LIT reported 120 participants across 15 states in Northern and Southern Nigeria.
Those are enrollment snapshots at different stages, not separate groups to add together, and enrollment did not mean that every participant had completed the reading.
Learning in the midst of ministry
The program sought to help pastors build theological libraries and develop habits of careful study while serving their congregations. It also created opportunities for pastors from different denominational backgrounds to learn through the same material.
Later accounts describe what participants made of that opportunity: Pastor Ezhi’s reflection and Pastor Damala’s testimony offer individual perspectives on the reading.
