Pastor EzhiFrom LIT’s published updates, November 2025
Pastor Ezhi had been preaching faithfully, but he described struggles with clarity and confidence in preaching and pastoral counsel. Through the Pastors Reading Program, he received fifteen books over twelve months—resources he said he could not otherwise have afforded or accessed.
Reading, reviewing and reflecting led him to reconsider habits in his life and ministry. In his words:
“There were things I used to take for granted. But now, I see the need to adjust my life and my preaching to impact the people I shepherd.”
Reflecting on Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, he spoke about the importance of staying faithful to the biblical text and its context. His account connects careful study with the responsibility of caring for a congregation.

Pastor DamalaFrom LIT’s published update, November 2025
When Pastor Damala read Gospel People by Michael Reeves as part of the Pastors Reading Program, his response was deeply personal: “I wept while reading it”
He reflected on how easily the heart of evangelism could be missed. What he read prompted him to preach differently, speak more boldly and anchor his ministry in the gospel.
Later, when he was invited to speak on missions, he drew on what he had learned. People asked where he had gained those insights. His answer was simple:
“I am enrolled in a Pastors Reading Program.”
His testimony offers a glimpse of how a pastor’s reading can carry into teaching and service in the church.

Testimony shared with LIT
For Olaniran Oluwatobi Joel, the Pastors Reading Program reinforces the importance of continued biblical and theological learning. He describes the resources as helping him align his ministry goals with Scripture.
“The provided resources have helped me clarify my ministerial goals, aligning them with scriptural principles.”
Two books stood out: Nine Marks of a Healthy Church by Mark Dever, for its focus on a biblical understanding of a healthy church, and Name Above All Names by Alistair Begg and Sinclair B. Ferguson, for its attention to who Christ is.
His feedback also raises a practical concern: books with a strongly academic tone can be harder to access. He encourages resources that are both trustworthy and engaging, particularly for younger ministers in Nigeria.
He recommends continuing the program so that more pastors can benefit from this kind of learning.

A gift received in October 2023
Adetola Faith Jimoh had wanted a Reformation Study Bible for some time. Living in Nigeria, she found that the cost of purchasing and shipping one put it beyond her reach.
At LIT’s two-day Bible conference at Sovereign Grace Community Church in October 2023, she received a hardcover Reformation Study Bible alongside R. C. Sproul’s Saved from What?
“This Study Bible as it is aptly called has helped me in my study of the Bible and my devotional life.”
She describes how the study notes helped her explore Genesis 15 and understand more of God’s covenant with Abram. For her, the gift became a resource for ongoing study, rather than simply a book to own.
Her testimony expresses gratitude to the LIT team and those whose support made the gift possible.
