The first Yoruba printing moves into distribution

Autumn 2023 updates followed The Gospel of Jesus Christ from local production into free distribution, alongside pastoral training and outreach.

From permission to printed copies

Following the publisher approval reported in August 2023, LIT’s October update described the first 10,000-copy Yoruba printing of Paul Washer’s The Gospel of Jesus Christ, titled Ihinrere Jesu Kristi, in production in Nigeria.

By the November 28 update, LIT reported that the first 10,000 copies had been printed and were being distributed free of charge. This was a later stage of the same project, not a second 10,000-copy print run.

Books supporting local ministry

The November report also recorded 5,571 books distributed through conferences, local churches, and university campus fellowships during the fiscal year. That dated figure should not be added to earlier overlapping updates or the ministry’s cumulative total.

Training alongside service

The October newsletter described pastoral interns teaching secondary-school students, participating in shepherds’ training in Abuja, and investing in young adults through local church life. Some were also pursuing theological education through a church-based learning community.

At the end of November, further Hausa and Yoruba translation projects remained in progress. Their later publication should not be inferred from this report.
