Biblical resources for pastors and readers

LIT’s August 2023 newsletter reported the distribution of 1,559 pastoral books and Study Bibles during June–August. Resources supplied through the generosity of Ligonier Ministries and Midway Presbyterian Church reached individuals, including pastors, at conferences and seminaries.

The update also described a conference in Port Harcourt where 100 Pentecostal pastors received Reformation Study Bibles. LIT asked for prayer that the recipients would study the Scriptures and grow in their understanding of the gospel.

These are figures reported for that period. They should not be added to other overlapping newsletter figures or to the ministry’s cumulative resource total.

A publishing milestone

The newsletter reported that Reformation Heritage Books had approved the Yoruba translation of Paul Washer’s The Gospel of Jesus Christ for printing in Nigeria through LIT Publications. This followed the translation and review work described earlier in August. Approval to print was a milestone; this issue did not report that the proposed first print run had already been completed.

Learning through local service

Three pastoral interns at Trinity Baptist Church in Abuja continued street evangelism, outreach to secondary-school and university students, and follow-up discipleship. They also worked alongside other local Christian fellowships.

An update on financial stewardship

LIT also reported a correction to its 2022 financial report before filing Form 990. Returned mission-trip travel funds had been incorrectly recorded as donations instead of reducing travel expenses; the report was revised, alongside smaller bookkeeping corrections. The newsletter explained the correction as part of LIT’s commitment to transparency.
