Reading with attention to Scripture
In December 2022, LIT shared two responses from pastors who had received resources. The first described how a book on biblical theology helped him connect scriptural passages with their focus on Christ. A book on expositional preaching had also challenged his approach to sermon preparation.
He explained that he was learning to attend to a passage’s context and intended meaning, rather than selecting texts to support a point he had already decided to make.
Resources for conversations and church life
The second pastor described help from a field guide in conversations with friends influenced by prosperity teaching. He also valued a book by Conrad Mbewe for its accessible, biblically grounded treatment of how a church should function.
Beyond the moment of distribution
These personal accounts illustrate how recipients said they were using books after receiving them. They are individual testimonies shared in 2022, rather than an evaluation of every resource recipient. The original newsletter did not identify the two respondents by name.
