Ministry Update

Practical care for families; new translation work begins

The October 2024 update reported food assistance through FoodBridge and progress toward Yoruba and Hausa editions of Pilgrim’s Progress.

Food support through local churches

In August 2024, LIT received requests for food assistance from partner churches and Bible-study groups. A subsequent update described preparations with FoodBridge, a Nigerian organization helping supply food for households in need.

By October, LIT reported that food packages had reached families through that partnership. The newsletter described practical encouragement and thanksgiving among the recipients.

The early appeal’s household target was a plan; it should not be treated as a completed distribution count.

Preparing editions of Pilgrim’s Progress

The same October update announced ongoing work on Yoruba and Hausa translations of John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress. LIT thanked 10ofThose for permission to translate and print those editions, alongside a non-exclusive license to publish an English edition in Nigeria through the partnership described with Evangelical Press and 10ofThose.

The translation announcement did not establish that either indigenous-language edition had already been printed or distributed. LIT invited prayer for the project and for future readers.

Different forms of care

The update connected practical help for immediate needs with the longer work of making biblical literature accessible. Both were presented as ways of serving people through relationships with local churches.

Adapted from the October 31, 2024 ministry update and its November resend, with context from the August appeal and planning update. Historical plans are distinguished from reported assistance; expired appeals and unit-cost promises are omitted.
