Support during the first months of ministry

In March 2023, LIT looked back on financial support begun in November 2022 for three missionary pastors in Nigeria. Two had completed internships at Kabwata Baptist Church in Zambia and begun serving in southern Nigeria.

A new source of continuing support

The letter reported news received through Sovereign Grace Bible Church in Lagos: HeartCry Missionary Society would provide those two pastors with full salary support for eight years. LIT welcomed the longer-term provision and gave thanks for the part its supporters had played in the early months.

This article records what was announced in March 2023. It does not independently confirm every subsequent year of that arrangement.

Care for a pastor and three interns

LIT said it would direct support toward the remaining pastor’s full salary and three pastoral interns added in January. The letter explained how partnerships could help sustain men in local ministry while allowing LIT to respond as other support became available.

The original letter included a monthly fundraising appeal. Its figures described the needs of that time, rather than the ministry’s current budget.
