Gathering amid difficult circumstances
LIT’s April 2026 newsletter looked back on ministry in Maiduguri, Borno State, during March. The account described a city affected by violence and loss, and churches continuing to serve amid those pressures.
At St. John’s Anglican Church, in partnership with the Christian Council of Nigeria, more than 170 pastors and a few women leaders gathered to receive biblical resources and encouragement.
Resources for continued service
The distribution included the Global ESV Study Bible and Hausa-language resources: The Gospel of Jesus Christ by Paul Washer and Ligonier’s The Word Made Flesh.
The newsletter described recipients who had lost Bibles and other resources in attacks, alongside others who had served for years with limited access to theological books. The resources were intended to support continued preaching, study, and care for congregations.
A desire for continued learning
Participants expressed interest in further resources, training, and a future conference. These were requests shared at the time, not a report that a later conference had already taken place.
LIT invited prayer for protection, open doors, and lasting fruit from the work. The account offers a picture of ministry sustained through partnership in difficult circumstances.
